🛠️3. What is Seamoon Protocol?

Seamoon Protocol ("SMP") is a multi-chain digital ecosystem concept offered by DM2C Studio that combines different types of currencies and assets, including proprietary crypto assets.

In the future, we aim to establish a strong, solid, and sustainable ecosystem with the participation of many businesses and individual creators in this concept.

Design Concept

First, we will explain the design philosophy common to the SMP ecosystem as a whole.

Sustainability

As mentioned earlier, "sustainability" is our universal theme, and that is where the name "Seamoon" comes from.

Seamoon is a word coined from the literal English translation of the Japanese Kanji for jellyfish, “海月” (海 = sea, 月 = moon). Among jellyfish, the Turritopsis jellyfish (“Immortal jellyfish”) are said to have an ecology in which they rejuvenate into a juvenile form when they reach the end of their life span and are said to be practically immortal. This is a metaphor for the sustainable economy we are striving to create.

This project aims to be like a Turritopsis jellyfish, constantly changing, circulating, and surviving.

Composability

By utilizing composable and interoperable modules provided by the web3 industry, we will incorporate the latest technologies and knowledge to make the project responsive to the changing times. Specifically, we will implement the following structure:

Separation of economics structuring and blockchain

The economic model (economics) is universal, but the blockchain technology for its implementation remains constantly updatable

Separation of economic design and application

Economic models (economics) are universal, but the services that use them remain constantly updatable

Maintaining independence of each component

Keeps each component, such as wallet and authenticator, independent and always updatable

Especially in a field such as web3 where technology is evolving rapidly, it is difficult to continue to use a particular technology or to select a technology that will become the de facto technology in the future at an early stage. As mentioned above, we see maintaining a design that is not overly dependent on any particular technology or service as a necessary stance for the long-term survival of the project.

Law of spiral development

While it is difficult to predict the future of web3, it is possible to learn from history to help predict the future. There are many indications that the historical trends of web3 are analogous to the history of the spread of the Internet, and the history of DeFi (Decentralized Finance) seems to be a fast-forward look at the history of finance.

Looking back on human history, societies do not develop in a monotonous linear fashion, but more often in a form of "spiral development," oscillating between a certain proposition (thesis) and a contradictory opposite proposition (antithesis), and creating a new proposition that integrates both.

For example, as a reaction to the emergence of public blockchain technology, the concept of private chains, similar to the old closed systems, was born, and multi-chain and cross-chain solutions as interoperability technology to integrate them became the trend. Concepts such as CeDeFi, which integrates DeFi (Decentralized Finance) and CeFi (Centralized Finance), are also emerging.

The basis of our business strategy is to "keep learning," and one of the ways we do this is to "learn from the past" in order to discover universal laws that can be used to predict the future. For example, as a reaction to crypto assets, stablecoins pegged to fiat currencies will be created, and a new currency or ecosystem integrating these assets will be the next innovation, and the design of the Economics described below is based on this hypothesis.

Four Modules Provided by SMP

SMP consists of the following four modules, each with a different role

  1. Economics: Stable development of an economic system based mainly on DM2P, a unique token

  2. Applications: Creation of entertainment content that serves as a point of contact with users

  3. Platform: Provision of a set of functions to improve the user and development experience

  4. Intelligence: Information gathering and analysis for business support and security enhancement

Below is a correlation chart for each module.

Each Application, which is the point of contact with the user, can provide services using only the Economics function, which is located at the bottom, or it can provide services while utilizing the Platform and Intelligence functions alone or in combination, as needed.

In this chapter, we will explain what role each of these functions plays, one by one.
